HOMER “HAND MADE” CUSTOM DRUMS - OUR STORY

HomerO Lavernia (HOMER) as a child growing up in Miami,was fascinated with the sounds of drums whenever he heard music. He built his own kits out of cardboard and household items to play along with whatever classic rock and oldies music was playing around the house. Homer got his first commercial drum kit when he was 17 years old to play in punk rock garage bands.Through his college years, Homer played in a few acts that toured the U.S. and began dreaming of making his own drums… again.
Homer was driven to make drums with better sound and craftsmanship than the drums he could purchase. This was the beginning of Homer Made Custom Drums.
Relocating to Colorado to have access to supply and the knowledge of master drum crafters, Homer began to create his own unique drums with a sound superior to the drums available to him at music stores.
Homer and his wife Sandra started to gather the interests of professional drummers and producers with their hand crafted sound superiority. Homers appreciation for Reggae, Metal,Punk, Jazz and drums has been a perfect fit for studio and touring professionals. Homer and Sandra have been steadily growing the vision of beautifully crafted drums with a beautiful sound from their home based office and workshop in Kittredge, Colorado with their cats Lisa and Bart. Homer Made has become a small brand recognized by many, but only the lucky few have had the opportunity to experience the beauty of speaking with Homer or Sandra to work with them at accomplishing whatever aesthetic details they wish, from any exotic wood they desire, the hardware they prefer and the guarantee of being the best drums they have ever played.
With an emphasis on top quality and drum snobbery, using a high pressure system he built in his home workshop, Homer employs traditional techniques to build his shells from scratch. The options of any available species of lumber, high end hardware and making any size drum, Homer Made Custom Drums looks forward to making every drummers dreams come true with a truly superior product.
